Since relocating to the Netherlands in 2024, Calligaris has deepened his personal research working at his connection to horses and to the animal world in general. He expanded his practice using alternative printing techniques, video installations, and archival materials, merging classical techniques with experimental approaches. “Forgotten animals”, “The Horse as a Mirror” and “Horse perspective” stem out of this new processes. The first being a photobook about animal segregation, and last being a photo series and a video installation about the encounter with the horses.

Dal suo trasferimento nei Paesi Bassi nel 2024, Calligaris ha approfondito la sua ricerca personale lavorando sul suo legame con i cavalli e il mondo animale in generale. Ha ampliato la sua pratica artistica utilizzando tecniche di stampa alternative, installazioni video e materiali d'archivio, fondendo tecniche classiche con approcci sperimentali. Da questi nuovi processi nascono “Forgotten animals”, “The Horse as a Mirror” e “Horse perspective”. Il primo è un libro fotografico sulla segregazione animale, mentre gli ultimi sono una serie fotografica e un'installazione video sull'incontro con i cavalli.
