Espatriati. Young Italians who, Like Me, Emigrated (2025) is an intimate and poetic documentary that gives voice to a generation of young Italian expatriates in the Netherlands. Through eighteen interviews with young men and women aged 20 to 30, and family archive footage shot by the director's father between 1999 and 2005, Pietro Calligaris reflects on migration, intertwining past, present, and future.

A poetic documentary on the emigration of young Italians, weaving together 18 interviews, archive material, and personal reflections. Expatriates questions the meaning of "home," the sense of belonging, and the future imagined by those who chose to leave.
Fiorire altrove / Blooming Elsewhere
(2025)
I encounter young Italians living abroad, immersed in everyday landscapes that do not yet belong to them. In their bodies and in the places they move through, a shared tension settles: the desire to exist without masks, away from the shadow of the past, in order to become who one truly is.
What is our voice now? What do you hear when you truly listen to yourself?
Between leaving and returning, between what is lost and what blooms elsewhere, a collective voice emerges—fragile and necessary. A faint invitation to pause, to find ourselves again, to recognise one another, to resurface; to be who we are.
